Do you wish your kiddos LOVED reading? It’s totally possible! I’m here to share with you the 20 most awesome books for early readers who don’t enjoy reading—handpicked by my kindergarten students!
As a Kindergarten teacher, I wondered how I could get those 2 or 3 students (who don’t enjoy reading) to LOVE reading. I tried so many different strategies to help get my students to enjoy reading. One day I decided to sit down with a bunch of five year olds and ask for feedback (bold move, I know!)
I paid close attention to what those specific students would suggest. The most common feedback was that they wanted MORE “cool” books in my classroom library. Now, let me clarify, I did have a lot…but they wanted MORE!
Alright! I was at their mercy so I bought 2 copies of EVERY book they requested…to see if it would help my student that didn’t enjoy reading.
IT WAS A GAME CHANGER!!
